“I don’t know what I want to do, but I know the woman I want to become.”
I started this blog after I was laid off from work in February 2009. Being an overachiever and chronic planner, this came as a big blow and sent me through a mental transition that I wasn’t prepared for. This once devastating event turned out to to be the catalyst for a new liberating phase of life that I could have never anticipated. I got to travel for three months to Spain and Kenya. I spent quality time with friends and family. My social life picked up ten-fold. I learned basic Spanish. I took an improv class. I spent time focusing on me and changed my perspective on work, life and love.
The quote above is one of my favorite and has become a guiding theme for me. It represents the transformation to leading with who I am instead of what I do.
